POEM: CLUTTER IN MY MIND

Copyright@shravancharitymission

CLUTTER IN MY MIND

When my mind ceases to work,

It drives me berserk,

When I’m reminded of the curse,

Where clutter is at its worst.

 *

If empty mind is a devil’s workshop,

Cluttered mind is a spooky den,

Where emptiness is a result of nothingness,

But clutter an offshoot of plentiness.

*

When I began doing things,

I came out of my emptiness,

But by doing too many things,

I only cluttered my wits,

*

But whether it is emptiness or the clutter,

Void or the litter,

Song or the clamour,

Both in excess,

Smother the rigours.

*

And in this baffling world of mine,

One wonders at times,

From where to begin,

And where to end,

The acrobats of life.

*

At times when the mind fails to act,

And slumps into emptiness,

Succumbs to everythingness,

Deviates from equilibrium,

In the poetry of existence.

*

I realise the hollowness,

Of both,

Nothingness and everythingness,

In this world of lavishness.

*

One day when I opened my eyes,

To read my mind,

I could only see zigzag and criss-crosses of empty lines,

That only revealed the reasons,

For the clutter in my mind.

*

So delete the clutter,

Throw away the litter,

Remove the flutter,

To avoid the gutter.

*

For life is to live,

Life is to give,

Life is to steer,

And life is to gear.

*

So beware of the clutter,

That rides over your grey matter,

For life is all about,

Living away from the clutter.

BREAKING RELATIONSHIP—LIKE A SUDDEN DEATH

Copyright@shravancharitymission

In our lives we all are born in a family. Where, we have our parents and our siblings. But as we grow old. We discover, we even have relatives. Where, some are close and some distant and over a period of time. When we grow up, we even make acquaintances and friends. Gradually, some acquaintances turn out to be lifetime friends, and some remain as acquaintances.

As a proclivity in this arduous and long journey of life. Every now and then we keep making acquaintances, friends and even colleagues. Who, remain with us for a period of time and then we lose track of them. Because, we all have defined journeys. Where, destinations are different and paths are therefore varied.

In this ever changing scenario we often lose touch with our old contacts, while we form new associations. But we never really feel sad about it as if we have lost the old ones for forever. Because heart-to-heart we all know they are just round the corner, in some different company or a country or a city or a profession. Where, we can just pick the phone and talk to them whenever we want.

But such is not the case. When any of your close relative, friend, colleague or even an acquaintance tries to sever his or her relationship with you. Or if it’s a vice versa for then. It’ll be like a sudden death of a relationship. And death is a point of no return. So, don’t just head towards the death of a relationship. Even if you’re walking out leave a point for return.

POEM: HAPPINESS

Copyright@shravancharitymission

happiness 2 happiness simplicity

HAPPINESS

In search of happiness I met materialism,

In pursuit of richness I met consumerism,

And while doing so, I fell from simplification,

To the vulgar wells of complications.

*

Where in the boil of life I discovered,

Big screens were there but the movie of life was missing,

Limousines were there but the happy journey was missing,

Broad roads and boulevards were there but the road map of life was missing.

*

Dreamliners were there but the flight to happiness was missing,

Tall buildings were there but the shelter of life was missing,

Money was there but merchandise of happiness was missing.

*

TV-channels were there but the entertainment of life was missing,

Sizzling ambience was there but the theme of life was missing,

Beautiful dresses were there but inner beauty was missing,

Tall degrees were there but life’s education was missing.

*

Money was there but the mouth was missing,

Holiday was there but sightseeing was missing,

Mind was there but heart went missing,

Medicines were there because health was missing.

*

Opportunities were there but sincerity was missing,

Fun was there but laughter was missing,

Shopping malls were there but fulfilment was missing,

Gyms are there but fitness was certainly missing,

*

Callousness was all over and concern was missing,

Temples were all over but God was missing,

Spiritualism was all over but the spirit was missing,

Life was there but soul was missing,

Eyes were there but vision was missing.

*

Then, one day I realised,

Pursuit was there but the target was missing,

Complexity was there but simplicity was missing,

Everything was there but happiness was missing.

*

All my life I thought,

Complication is happiness,

Complexity is happiness,

Materialism is happiness,

Consumerism is happiness,

For I had not realised the easiness of happiness.

*

As happiness is small,

Happiness is simple,

Happiness is sober,

Happiness is meagre,

Where happiness is a smile,

And happiness believes in principles.

POETRY: DREAM vs REALITY

Copyright@shravancharitymission

DREAM3 DREAM5 DREAM1 DREAM

DREAM vs REALITY

Like the brooks and streams,

Flows my stream of dreams,

From high mountains,

To the rigors of extremes.

*

Whichever way one sees,

It glees,

But for dream to realise,

One has to besiege.

*

For in the applecart of life,

Nothing is simple,

But in the garrison of mind,

Nothing is invincible.

*

And between my dreams and reality,

Something is amiss,

And the gap is wide,

For one dreams of future,

But lives in extremes.

*

For dream is the thrill of reality,

And reality the forerunner of dream,

And this is how life schemes.

*

In the harsh struggle of life,

Time to dream is a luxury,

And need to struggle a reality,

Where reality is my mother,

And alluring dream is the sky.

*

And from the temerity of wisdom,

Kindles the refractions of life,

Only to convey life is incomplete,

Without the spectrum of dreams.

*

Harsh realities are pin-pricks,

Fancy dreams are breathtaking,

And they live in different worlds,

Where reality bites,

And dream incubates.

*

So what is important?

To live in reality or in dreams,

For without reality there is no dream,

And without dream there is a boring reality.

*

And so I tread,

Three steps reality and one step dream,

For that is the way,

To beam.

*

Since I realised,

Dream and reality need to co-exist,

To balance your life.

POETRY: TAKING THE FIRST STEP

Copyright@shravancharitmission

first step first step1 first step2

TAKING THE FIRST STEP

In the journey of life,

Taking the first step was always a fright,

For there was no direction in sight,

Because it was a maiden flight,

And success was nowhere in hype.

*

A small beginning was all that mattered,

To bring about even a big charter,

Determined I coursed my way as I began my tread,

Only to realise the first step was bigger than the chapter.

*

Big things have small beginnings,

Small steps have longer journeys,

For first step breaks the inertia,

And first step starts the journey,

And journey takes you on the mission.

*

Remember first step is the dare,

And so you need to be beware,

For first step is path breaking,

And path-breaking is water shed.

*

And to bring about your watershed,

Don’t fear the first step,

For fear is road block and fear is your enemy,

And between fear and action,

Lies the destiny,

*

And if you don’t feel the need of a first step,

Ask yourself why,

For if you want moments of high,

It has to be through the skies,

And skies are not available,

Till you take the first step to fly.
