Ideologies can’t feed mouths, secularism can’t get you jobs and communal forces can’t get you harmony yet all three put together can get you a government that may or may not deliver on quality; says the philosophically hung assembly of J&K., and what’s wrong in that.

The moot question is, can India afford anymore, stale ideologies and irrelevant isms that may have outlived their utility; and for far too long the Indian Politicians have kicked the can down the road and ignored the biggest ideology or ism required to run this country: the ideology of Roti, Kapara aur Makaan which has not reached every Indian yet; for “there are no atheists in foxholes or ideologues in a financial crisis” Ben Bernanke.

IDEOLOGIES, ISMS CAN CREATE BAD AND MAL-GOVERNANCE

The vital statistics of India is becoming more and more overbearing and explosive each day with 17% of world’s population residing in 2.5% of geographical area called ‘mother India.’ So you just can’t relax and say, so be it; when 60% percent of your population is below the age of 35 and raring for lucrative jobs. And so the hazy abstracts of ideologies and isms need to be replaced by good governance, performance and economic upsurge.

And, therefore it is now I&I (Ideology & Ism) versus performance and good governance. Many failed leaders and Parties who have been crying hoarse about ideologies and isms have failed in good governance, forget growth of economy and creation of jobs. Take the case of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal that harps the most on ideologies and isms, are one of the most laggard states of India in performance, barring Bihar that has shown some signs of revival under Nitish Kumar. Shouldn’t then the leaders of these states take the blame of mal-governance and try and contain the drift of their young population to other states for jobs. But can they do it with the clarion call of I&I alone, or will they require something else, is to be seen.

More astounding is the example of the UPA government that was shown the door, because it vehemently tried to camouflage corruption and non-performance by mere propaganda of secularism, and stereotyped threats, about saving the country from communal forces and trying to keep BJP at bay; but their bluff was caught.

REALIGNMENT OF POLITICAL STRENGTHS, SKILLS IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR

It is heartening to read about Maharastra Chief Minister Fadnavis requisitioning for 10 IIT, IIM interns to monitor and pursue government plans for good governance; because there is no other way out, which these I&I brand of politicians don’t understand or feign not to understand.

To be more effective and understood the party I&I’s will now have to abbreviate and change to simplicity that can even be encased in a twitter message- 140 words; as no one has the time and stamina to read reams; something like “education, Job, health, security, empowerment, governance, faith and defending motherland.” This alone is the need of the hour.

J&K EXPERIMENT

Ideal situations to govern a state will only reduce and I see no harm in BJP forming a government with any one of the parties provided they have a twitter size I&I for governance, for that’s what is required for a sumptuous life. Since, people of J&K have masqueraded, for far too long with outdated I&I’s and the cows are yet to come home.

For make no mistake for what is global is more powerful than national and national more powerful than local and those political parties and leaders who do not up the ante for global pursuits will only fade away.
